ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Saint Leo Lions men's lacrosse rallied late but fell to the No.5 Lewis Flyers 20–14.
First Quarter:
Lewis opened the game with a rapid scoring run, netting the first eight goals before Saint Leo answered with tallies from seniors Aidan Knoetgen and JD Henninger.
Second Quarter:
Saint Leo showed signs of life in the second as senior John Raucci, sophomore Jake Sudaley, junior Andrew Graham, and senior Greg Palmer each scored. The lions trailed 15-6 at the half.
Third Quarter:
The Lions continued to battle in the third. Palmer scored twice in the period, while freshman Brayden Stellwagen added another late goal to help Saint Leo narrow the margin to 18–9 heading into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter:
Saint Leo mounted its strongest push in the final quarter with five goals. Sophomore Brady Moltisanti scored twice, Raucci added another goal, and Palmer and senior Jimmy McGonigle also found the net as the Lions closed the gap before the final whistle, falling 20–14.
