Baseball Conquers Colorado Christian, Takes Doubleheader and Series

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team swept Colorado Christian in a doubleheader with a 16-1 victory in game one and a 11-7 win in game two.

During game one, senior Ryan Crivello flied out to right field on a sacrifice to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. The Cougars answered with an RBI-single to left field in the bottom of the first. Saint Leo went on to score 15 unanswered runs and run-ruled Colorado Christian.

Crivello went 2-for-3 with four RBI and a walk. Freshman Noah Delgado registered two hits, which featured his first collegiate homer in the sixth. Junior Colton Musgrave, senior Amai Rivera-Martinez, and junior Abrahan Rios each knocked in a pair of runs.
On the mound, freshman Collin Lock pitched 6.0 innings with five strikeouts while only allowing one run (earned) on two hits to earn the win. In relief, redshirt sophomore Ricky O'Dette pitched 1.0 innings and tallied a strikeout.

In game two, the Lions took a 6-3 lead in the fourth on a sac-fly from senior Thomas DeBrower. However, the Cougars countered with a three-run homer to tie the game at 6-6. DeBrower once again came through in the clutch with an RBI-single to right field in the sixth to give the Lions a 7-6 edge. Saint Leo offensive kicked into gear in the eighth with four runs to secure an 11-7 victory.
