SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team rolled to a 10-3 victory over Parkside in a non-conference game on Friday behind a par of homers from senior infielder
Ryan Crivello and senior first baseman
Amai Rivera-Martinez.
Crivello and redshirt sophomore
Ryan Jackson scored on an infield error to give the Lions an early 1-0 lead in the first before senior
Thomas DeBrower recorded an RBI-single in the second to extend the Saint Leo lead to 3-0. In the third, Crivello blasted his third home run of the season to center field as Saint Leo led 5-0.
The Rangers answered with one run in the sixth before Rivera-Martinez went yard in addition to an RBI-double from Crivello and a fielding error pushed the Lions advantage to 9-1. In the seventh, senior
Dylan Mass knocked in a run with a double to left field (10-1).
Parkside only mustered a pair of runs in the eighth as Saint Leo secured the series-opener.
On the mound, junior
Flynn Howard recorded eight strikeouts in 8.0 innings of work while allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits with 121 pitches thrown. He collected the win and improved to 3-0 on the season.
