SAINT LEO, Fla. - #10 Saint Leo University women's lacrosse jumped out to an early lead an never looked back in a 22-4 win over Saint Michael's on Thursday evening.
Holly Hill's seven point night led the Lions to their second win of the season. Freshman
Sophia Santella recorded her first collegiate hat trick with three first half goals. The Lions improve to 2-1 overall while the Purple Knights begin the season 0-1.
Saint Leo saw 15 players find the back of the net, including six finding the back of the net multiple times.

Alexis Iardella,
Ava Miocic and
Sophia Santella all recorded their first collegiate goals. Hill led the offense with seven points on two goals and five assists. Santella scored a game best three goals. Gebinine (6) and
Grace DeWitt (4) combined for 10 of Saint Leo's 16 draw controls. Saint Leo was a perfect three for three on free position shots earning goals from Hill, Gebinine, and
Sydney Brown.
Jessica Harclerode made four saves while allowing a goal in the first half.
Jordan Rose entered at the half and made five saves.
#10 Saint Leo 22, Saint Michael's 4
The Lions opened the game with an 8-1 first quarter. Goals by Nuss, Santella, Brown, and Hill gave the home team a 4-0 lead over the first seven minutes. After allowing the only goal of the first half, Saint Leo responded with four goals to close out the opening period including three in a 36 second span.
The second quarter was all Saint Leo as it put up seven goals in the quarter.
Holly Hill had five points in the second quarter alone. She scored the Lions' tenth goal and assisted on four goals.
Isabella Gebinine opened the second half scoring her first collegiate goal in the first minute of the third quarter. She found the back of the net for a third time after
Ava Miocic scored her first collegiate goal. Saint Michael's scored its second goal of the game late in the third quarter to end a 15-0 run for the Green & Gold.
Brigid Torpey closed out the third quarter with an unassisted goal and followed that with opening the final quarter with another unassisted goal. The Purple Knights scored two of the final three goals of the game.
