SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's soccer team picked up a 1-0 victory at home versus Barry in a Sunshine State Conference (SSC) bout on Saturday night after junior
Luis Gaitan laced his second game-winning goal of the season.
The first half featured a defensive battle with both teams fighting for position in each other's zones. The Lions registered five shot attempts and one corner kick heading into halftime while the Bucs recorded three shot attempts with one corner kick at intermission.
In the second half, junior
Juan Jimenez found Gaitan as he connected for the goal to give the Green & Gold a 1-0 advantage in the 50th minute. The Saint Leo defense was stout for the remainder of the game as Barry only had four shot attempts.

Vincent Fournier collected a pair of saves and earned his first shutout of the season.
The Lions return to action on Tuesday, October 6 as it hosts Florida Ploy in a non-conference game starting at 7 p.m.
