SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's soccer team picked up a 3-2 victory over Florida Poly in a non-conference bout on Tuesday night.

Virgilio Escala scored the opening goal of the game in the 12th minute that gave the Green & Gold a 1-0 advantage. Sophomore
Valentino Suaya extended the Lions led to 2-0 in the 19th minute off a dished from classmate
Evan Yockey. At intermission, the Lions led by a 2-0 margin.
However, the Phoenix registered back-to-back goals to tie the game at 2-2 with 20 minutes remaining in the game. Junior
Luis Gaitan answered with a penalty kick goal during the 77th minute that sealed a Saint Leo victory.

Josh Jones collected the win as he posted two saves in the complete-game effort.
The Lions will return to action on Saturday, October 10 as they travel to face Lynn in a Sunshine State Conference battle, starting at 6 p.m.
