DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Saint Leo University volleyball team fell on the road Friday night in Daytona Beach, Fla. as the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Eagles took the Sunshine State Conference match, 3-0. The Lions had their second-best hitting performance of the season at .262 but it was not enough to slow down the Eagles.

The loss drops Saint Leo's record to 5-13 overall including 1-7 in league play. The Eagles improved to 11-5 on the year and 4-3 in SSC action.

Freshman
Reagan Lyerla led the way offensively for the Lions with nine kills along with four digs. She had just two hitting errors and finished with a .233 attack percentage. Junior
Emma LeTourneau and freshman
Sheby Toney added six kills each. LeTourneau chipped in a service ace and a dig while Toney achieved all six of her kills in one set of action. LeTourneau posted a .357 hitting percentage while Toney clocked in at .313.

Jansen Warbritton led the way with 15 assists, nine digs and three kills while sophomores
Camila Villar and
Bridget Gallagher added seven and six assists, respectively. Graduate student
Giada Solorzano held down the backline with a team-best 14 digs.

Dakota Zieman led the Eagles with 17 kills while Lindsay Smith added 13.

The Eagles won in straight sets 25-21, 25-22 and 25-19.

The Lions will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as Saint Leo travels to Rollins College for a 4 p.m. contest.
