WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Saint Leo University volleyball team dropped its weekend finale at Rollins College Saturday afternoon, 3-0. The Tars came out strong and kept the momentum throughout the match for the victory.

The loss moves Saint Leo to 5-14 overall including 1-8 in Sunshine State Conference action. The Tars improved to 10-9 on the year and 3-5 in league play.

Freshman
Shelby Toney led the way Saturday for Saint Leo as she tallied seven kills, three digs and a pair of service aces. Fellow freshman
Reagan Lyerla chipped in six kills while securing a team-best three service aces. Junior
Emma LeTourneau added five kills on just nine swings with a .444 attack percentage.

Jansen Warbritton added another double-double to her tally as she handed out 20 assists while securing a team-high tying 11 digs. Freshman
Elle Smith tied Warbritton for the digs lead with 11 while adding an ace.

Kai Hazelett led the Tars with 14 kills while Vivian Scuteri had six kills on just eight swings for an impressive .750 attack percentage.

The Tars came out strong and took the opening set 25-16. The second set was a bit closer but the Tars pulled away late for a 25-19 victory. The final set was similar to the first with the same score outcome of 25-16.

The Lions will get right back to action this Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. as they travel to Eckerd College for a midweek meetup.
