SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo women's basketball played Nova Southeastern at home and fell by a final score of 98-53.
First Quarter
Saint Leo came out firing as junior Olivia Agunzo hit her first 3 of the night, followed by another 2 point jump shot. The sharks battled back quickly and the Lions and sharks as freshman Zoe O'Leary and sophomore Amy Duggan traded buckets back and forth. The first quarter ended knotted at 17.
Second Quarter
The second quarter saw the sharks continue their run, but O'Leary and Duggan continued to add in baskets for the Lions. Graduate student Paula Llovich added in two baskets of her own. Nova led 48-31 at halftime.
Second Half
The second half saw Nova get hot from three, with Saint Leo unable to match their run. The final score was 98-53. Despite the loss, Zoe O'Leary recorded another double double with 12 points, 13 points, and 5 blocks. Her 5 blocks were a career high as well. Junior Olivia Agunzo also recorded a career high with 7 rebounds.
The women's basketball team is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 24th against Rollins College.
