SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo men's soccer opened its 2025 campaign under the lights at University Turf Stadium on Thursday night, falling 3-1 to #21 Auburn Montgomery in a hard-fought non-conference battle.

The Lions struck first in the 56th minute when redshirt freshman Jorge Perez Rosales buried a chance to give Saint Leo a 1-0 lead. The breakthrough came after sustained pressure, with Perez registering his first career goal.

The Warhawks responded quickly as AUM laced an equalizer in the 61st minute, followed just over a minute later by another goal for a 2-1 lead.
The Warhawks extended their advantage in the 86th minute, sealing the 3-1 result.

Perez led Saint Leo offensively with two shots and the lone goal, while senior Anel Rojas fired three attempts. Goalkeeper James Knudson made two saves in the match. The Lions out-cornered AUM 3-2 but were edged 13-7 in total shots.

Saint Leo returns to action on Saturday, September 6 as it hosts #13 West Florida in a non-conference bout.
