SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo men's soccer opened its 2025 campaign under the lights at University Turf Stadium on Thursday night, falling 3-1 to #21 Auburn Montgomery in a hard-fought non-conference battle.
The Lions struck first in the 56th minute when redshirt freshman
Jorge Perez Rosales buried a chance to give Saint Leo a 1-0 lead. The breakthrough came after sustained pressure, with Perez registering his first career goal.
The Warhawks responded quickly as AUM laced an equalizer in the 61st minute, followed just over a minute later by another goal for a 2-1 lead.
The Warhawks extended their advantage in the 86th minute, sealing the 3-1 result.

James Knudson made two saves in the match. The Lions out-cornered AUM 3-2 but were edged 13-7 in total shots.
Saint Leo returns to action on Saturday, September 6 as it hosts #13 West Florida in a non-conference bout.
