SAINT LEO, Fla. – #13 Saint Leo University softball opened the second round of NCAA South Regional action on Friday at Mary Cannon Cabot Stadium. The Lions faced off against #7 Auburn University at Montgomery in the second round falling into the elimination bracket with a 4-2 loss to the Warhawks.
 
The Lions were led offensively by Hope Epps, who went three-for-three at the plate. Maddie Antioco was the second Lion to record multiple hits.
 
In the circle, Tierney Hocquard pitched six innings, stricking out three batters, and allowed four runs (three earned).

• Hailey Beuerlein drove in the opening run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning.
• Shyanne Waller reached on a fielding error on the very next play, which scored Hope Epps to give Saint Leo a two-run lead.
• AUM got on the scoreboard with a pair of RBI singles to tie the game in the bottom of the second.
• Auburn-Montgomery took a 4-2 lead in the third inning with runs coming across on a sacrifice fly and a single.
• The Lions didn't go down without a fight as they put multiple runners on base in the later innings.
