SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team split its doubleheader versus Lynn in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) action on Saturday afternoon.
In Game 1, the Lions' bats came alive as Saint Leo powered past Lynn, 13-8. After falling behind early, the Green and Gold roared back with a six-run second inning, fueled by key hits from Thomas DeBrower and Roberto Odor. DeBrower had a monster day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with 4 RBI, while Ryan Robinson added three hits and an RBI. On the mound, Kaelan Racculia picked up the win in relief, holding off a late Lynn rally.
Game 2 saw Lynn respond, claiming an 8-3 win over the Lions. After trading runs early, Lynn pulled away with a decisive five-run eighth inning. Despite hits from R. Crivello and a late RBI by T. DeBrower, the Lions couldn't complete the comeback. Starter T. Mecchella was tagged with the loss for Saint Leo.
Saint leo returns to action on Friday, May 2 as it travels to Eckerd for an SSC bout, starting at 6 p.m.
