SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team dropped the series opener against Lynn University, 13–2, Friday night in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) action.
The Lions jumped out to an early 2–0 lead in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a throwing error and an RBI single by
Ryan Crivello. However, Lynn responded by scoring seven runs in the top of the third. Saint Leo finished the night with six total hits.
Crivello paced the Lions with two hits and an RBI, while
Thomas DeBrower and
Dylan Mass each added a hit and a run scored. On the mound, starter
Kyle Scrape pitched two shutout innings before the bullpen took over.
Drew Rudsinski (3-1) was tagged with the loss after surrendering four runs.
Saint Leo returns to action on Saturday, April 26 as it concludes its series versus Lynn with a doubleheader, starting at 1 p.m.
