SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team delivered an explosive offensive performance on Tuesday night, overpowering the Eckerd Tritons 13-2 at Thomas B. Southard Stadium in a non-conference game. With the win, the Lions improved to 15-25 on the season, while Eckerd dropped to 10-27.
After falling behind 2-0 early, the Lions wasted no time mounting a response, lighting up the scoreboard with nine runs in the third inning to seize control of the game. Saint Leo pounded out 13 hits, with contributions up and down the lineup. Senior
Dylan Mass had a standout night, going 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and four RBIs, while
Ryan Robinson added three hits and an RBI of his own.
The Lions were aggressive on the basepaths as well, swiping six total bases—including two apiece from
Thomas DeBrower and
Roberto Odor—to keep the pressure on the Eckerd defense.
On the mound,
Drew Rudsinski was solid in relief, tossing five scoreless innings while allowing just five hits and striking out two. Starter D. Turner went two innings, surrendering a pair of runs.
The Lions return to action on Tuesday, April 22 as they travel to face Valdosta State in a non-conference game at 5 p.m.
