#15 Men’s Lacrosse Falls in Overtime Thriller at #12 Flagler, 8-7

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The 15th-ranked Saint Leo men's lacrosse team lost in an overtime thriller on Saturday night at 12th-ranked Flagler in non-conference play.

After a slow start that saw the Lions fall behind 5-1 in the second quarter, Saint Leo clawed its way back, cutting the deficit to 5-3 by halftime. Behind a strong defensive effort and stellar goalkeeping from junior Drew Wheeler, who tallied 17 saves, the Lions held Flagler to just two goals in the second half, forcing overtime with a late fourth-quarter strike from Zach Kroog.

Flagler's Trace McDonald delivered the game-winner in extra time, sealing contest. Junior John Raucci led the charge offensively with two goals, while junior Aiden Knoetgen added a goal and two assists.

Saint Leo returns to action on Wednesday, March 12 as it hosts Maryville, starting at 7 p.m.
