ORLANDO, Fla. – The eleventh-ranked Saint Leo University men's tennis team improved to 12-4 overall with a 7-0 blanking of the Rollins College Tars on Wednesday afternoon in Orlando. Due to construction on the Rollins campus, all home matches for the 2025 spring season will be played at USTA National Campus. The Lions shut out their opponent for the eighth time this season and the sixth of the 7-0 variety. 

Saint Leo opened the match winning two of three doubles to take the early 1-0 advantage. Kodai Kato and Jose David Segovia blanked their opponent, 6-0, to start things off in the right direction for the Lions. A 6-2 win at number on doubles by Eduardo Cohen and Luis Iriarte cinched the early 1-0 lead for the visiting Lions. Rollins held on for a 6-3 win at number two doubles to prevent Saint Leo from a doubles sweep.

The Green & Gold swept singles play as only two courts needed a third set. Kodai Kato's 6-3, 6-1 victories began singles play on the right note for the Lions. Thiel gave the Lions a 3-0 lead with a 6-4 and 6-2 win at number one singles. Back-to-back 6-2 wins at number three singles by Dylan Andrianaly clinched the match for the Lions. Jose David Segovia gave Saint Leo a 5-0 advantage, winning 6-2 and 7-5. The final two courts on the day went the distance as the visitors took both courts. Eduardo Cohen took the opening set 6-4 before falling 3-6 in the second set and won the point for the Lions with a 10-2 win in the tiebreaker. On court four, Luis Iriarte closed things out with a second and third-set win after dropping the opening set 4-6 he won 6-4 and then 10-7 in the tiebreaker.
