LAKELAND, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team lost on the road at seventh-ranked Florida Southern in a non-Sunshine State Conference (SSC) game on Tuesday night.
The Lions gained an early 1-0 advantage following a sacrifice-fly from graduate student
Adam Berry knock in junior
Thomas DeBrower. Senior
Ryan Robinson plated junior
Ryan Crivello on and RBI-single to center field as Saint Leo led by a 2-0 margin. In the bottom half of the first, the Mocs tied the game at 2-2.
During the fifth, senior
Caleb Adams doubled down the left field line to drive in junior
Roberto Odor, 3-2. However, a homer from Florida Southern tied the game in the sixth before the Mocs tallied a pair of runs in the seventh to hold a 6-3 edge.
Graduate student
Drew Rudsinski started on the mound and pitched 6.0 innings as he collected one strikeout while surrendering three runs (all earned) on six hits.
Saint Leo is back in action on Friday, March 21 as it hosts Florida Tech in a conference bout, starting at 6 p.m.
