SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team run-ruled American International by a 12-0 margin in non-conference play on Thursday night.
The Green and Gold gained a 2-0 advantage in the first inning as sophomore
Eli Vickers and junior
Thomas DeBrower scored on a throwing error from American International. In the third, senior
Ryan Robinson recorded an RBI-single to right center to score junior
Dylan Mass, 3-0. During the fourth, junior
Ryan Crivello drove in DeBrower with a sacrifice-fly to right field, 4-0.
The Lions' offense was clicking on all cylinders as they plated eight runs in the inning, first with a two-run double by Robinson followed by an RBI-single from junior
Roberto Odor through the right side. DeBrower drove in junior
Adrian Selles on a single to the left side before Crivello knocked in a pair of runs on a single to the right. Senior
Caleb Adams produced a productive out with a groundout RBI, capped off by Crivello stealing home.
DeBrower went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Robinson tallied two hits and three RBI. Crivello notched one hit and knocked in three runs. Vickers scored twice and walked once. On the mound, graduate student
Drew Rudsinski allowed just three hits with a trio of strikeouts in the complete-game victory.
Saint Leo returns to the diamond, tomorrow, March 14 as it travels to face Barry in a Sunshine State Conference (SSC) bout, starting at 6 p.m.
