SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University softball freshman pitcher Bella DiJulio pitched 3.2 innings of scoreless softball as the Lions turned a 3-0 deficit into an 11-3 run-rule victory on Friday night. The Lions improved to 8-6 overall and 1-3 in SSC play as the Lions earned their first SSC win of the season. Rollins drops to 5-4 overall and 3-1 in conference action.
Haleigh Thomas got the start in the circle for the Lions as she pitched 2.1 innings allowing a trio of runs on four hits while striking out one and walking a pair. DiJulio earned the first win of her collegiate career allowing a single hit in 3.2 innings while striking out four to keep the Tars off the board over the final three innings.
The Lions scored 11 unanswered runs over the final four innings capped off by a three-run sixth inning to earn the run-rule victory. Saint Leo scored 11 runs on 11 hits from five players including a three-for-four day at the plate by
Alexis Barber who had two RBI and two runs scored. Barber's two-RBI double in the fourth inning scored
Hope Epps for what proved to be the winning run.

Saint Leo and Rollins return to Mary Cannon Cabot Stadium to complete the three-game SSC series. First pitch of game one of Saturday's doubleheader is set for noon.
