#3 Men's Tennis Ends ITA National Indoor Championship in Sixth Place

INDIANAPOLIS – The third-ranked and number one seed Saint Leo University men's tennis team closed out the 2025 ITA National Indoor Championships on Sunday. The Lions took sixth place following a 4-3 loss to the number two-seed #2 Flagler. Saint Leo drops to 3-2 overall while Flagler improves to 3-1 on the season.

Saint Leo clinched the doubles point with wins at number three and two doubles to earn the early 1-0 lead. After Flagler opened the match with a 6-1 win at number one doubles, the Lions earned back-to-back wins at number three and two doubles. A 6-4 win at number three doubles by Jose David Segovia and Kodai Kato evened the doubles play at 1-1. Eduardo Cohen and Luis Iriate earned a 7-5 win at number two doubles to clinch the doubles point.

In singles action, the Lions earned wins at numbers one and six. The Lions lead 3-1 before Flagler rallied off three straight wins at four, five, and three to clinch the comeback win. Vincent Thiel (6-3, 6-1) and Eduardo Cohen (6-0, 6-1) earned singles wins for the Lions.
