INDIANAPOLIS – The third-ranked and number one seed Saint Leo University men's tennis team earned a 4-3 consolation win over #5 and four-seed Columbus State Cougars on Saturday morning. Following Saturday's match both teams records are now 3-1 on the season.

Saint Leo jumped out to the 1-0 lead clinching the doubles point with wins at number two and three doubles. Eduardo Cohen and Luis Iriarte gave the Lions the early doubles advantage with a 6-2 win at number two doubles. Kodai Kato and Jose David Segovia clinched the doubles point for the Lions with a 6-4 win at number three doubles.
 
In singles action, the Lions earned wins at numbers one, four, and five in the victory. Luis Iriarte won 6-3, 6-4 to put the Lions up 2-0 in the match. The Cougars claimed a victory at number two singles, 6-4, 6-3 to make it a 2-1 Lions advantage. Kodai Kato won his match by the same 6-3, 6-4 scores to give the Lions a 3-1 lead. Columbus State tied the match at 3-3 with wins at number six and two. Vincent Thiel rallied from a 6-3 first set loss to win 6-3, and 6-1 in the final two sets to clinch the match victory for the Lions.
