PENSACOLA, Fla. – Saint Leo men's basketball dropped a non-conference road matchup Tuesday night, falling 95–66 to West Florida.
West Florida opened the game with early momentum as it built a 50–31 halftime lead. The Lions continued to battle, generating second-chance opportunities with 18 offensive rebounds and forcing 13 Argonaut turnovers, however, West Florida maintained its lead as it shot 54 percent from the field. Additionally, the Argonauts finished 11-for-20 from three-point range.
Senior
Donovan Hill led Saint Leo with 11 points, including a pair of threes, while senior
Owen Pawlikowski, junior
Paul Lanzi, and senior
Lenz Dupont each added nine. Junior
Luther Smith Jr. chipped in eight points and five rebounds, and sophomore
Jayden Johnson provided a career-high six boards off the bench. Saint Leo's depth contributed 25 bench points on the night.
Saint Leo has a quick turnaround as it travels to Boca Raton to compete against FAU in an exhibition game tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m.
