SAINT LEO, Fla. – In the series opener on Thursday evening, the seventh-ranked Saint Leo baseball team lost 12-4 at home against Rollins in extra innings during Sunshine State Conference (SSC) play.

Junior Callen Moss kickstarted the Lions offense with a solo home run to left center in the bottom of the first inning as Saint Leo led by a 1-0 margin. The Tars quickly answered in the second inning with a pair of runs, 2-1. Rollins extended its lead in the sixth with a sacrifice-fly followed by an RBI-single in the seventh to gain a 4-1 advantage.

The Lions countered with two runs in the bottom half of the seventh as senior Mikey Scott blasted an RBI-triple to right field to plate classmate Josh Davis. Graduate student Buck Anderson trimmed the Saint Leo deficit to 4-3 with a sacrifice-fly to right center. In the ninth, Moss struck again as he knotted the game at 4-4 with another solo jack, this time to center field, to help send the game into extra innings. Rollins complied eight runs in the top of the 10th inning and gained a 12-4 lead.
