FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Saint Leo University softball team suffered a tough loss at #25 Nova Southeastern on Friday night in Fort Lauderdale. The Lions took a 4-2 lead into the seventh inning but a one-out two-RBI double tied the game in the bottom of the seventh and a walk-off triple ended the game in the eighth inning. Saint Leo falls to 30-11 and 15-4 in the SSC, while Nova Southeastern improved to 23-10 and 10-6 in conference play.

Hailey Beuerlein all recorded a multi-hit game collecting two hits each. Perez had two of the Lions' four RBI on the night. Following two runs in the bottom of the first
Haleigh Thomas held the Sharks off the board for five innings as she racked up 10 strikeouts in 7.1 innings pitched.

- The Lions took an early lead in the first inning plating a pair of runs with two-outs. Beurelein opened the scoring as she sent a two-out RBI base hit up the middle to score Shyanne Waller from second.
- After a hit by pitch to load the bases, Briana Neal put the visitors up 2-0 as she was hit by a pitch and Madyson Coe crossed the plate.
- The Sharks responded in the bottom of the first with a two-RBI base hit to the pitcher that allowed a pair of runners to score.
- Alyssa Perez broke the 2-2 tie in the top of the fourth with a one out double to right that scored Alexis Barber.
- Perez once again came through in the sixth inning as she bunted for a base hit that scored Barber from second.
- Thomas settled in after the first inning as she shut down the Sharks as she stranded just a trio of base runners from the second to six innings.
- A one-out double in the bottom of the seventh tied the game at 4-4. Thomas got the next two runners out to send the game to extra innings.
- After the Lions went down in order in the top of the eighth, the Sharks needed just three batters to walk off on Friday night. The first batter popped out to Thomas, who then gave the home team its first base runner of the eighth on a hit by pitch. The Sharks shortstop laced a ball to left center for an RBI triple to end the game.
