FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Saint Leo University softball team dropped its Saturday doubleheader at #25 Nova Southeastern on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale. The Lions were on the wrong end of a shutout for just the second time this season falling 8-0 in six innings in game one. A seventh inning run in the second game was all the scoring for the Lions on Saturday as the Sharks completed the SSC series sweep with a 6-1 game two final. Saint Leo falls to 30-13 and 15-6 in the SSC, while Nova Southeastern improved to 25-10 and 12-6 in conference play.
Hope Epps led the Lions offense with three hits on the day and
Madyson Coe and
Briana Neal also recorded a pair of hits on the day.
Neal scored the lone run for the Lions in the final inning of the doubleheader on a fielder's choice.
