SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo University softball team completed the series sweep of the Lynn Fighting Knights at home on Saturday. The Lions rallied for a walk-off win in game one and used a nine-run second inning to complete the doubleheader sweep in game two. Saint Leo improved to 34-14 overall and 18-6 in SSC play. The Lions currently sit in second play behind Tampa.
Kayla Swinson picked up the win in the first game as she pitched 6.1 innings of relief scattering seven hits while allowing a pair of runs.
Shyanne Waller's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh gave the Lions the walk-off win.
Game two saw another quality performance from
Haleigh Thomas as she settled in after allowing a first inning run to visitors. Thomas faced 15 batters in 3.1 innings pitched allowing a single run on three hits a pair of walks and a pair of strikeouts for her 13th win of the season. Tiereny Hocquard pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings in relief allowing just a pair of walks and striking out one.
Hope Epps went 3-for-3 in game two as she has two runs scored and an RBI to lead the Lions offense.
Alyssa Perez and
Sydney Cline also had a multi-hit game two for the home team.

Saint Leo is on the road next weekend at Eckerd for its final regular season road series. The Lions return home for the final regular season series against Tampa (May 1-2).
