ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The fourth-ranked Saint Leo baseball posted an impressive 15-0 victory on the road against Eckerd on Tuesday night.

Senior Josh Davis got the offensive attack going in the first inning with a sacrifice-fly to right field to plate sophomore Dylan Mass followed by graduate student Buck Anderson scoring on a wild pitch. In the third, Mass extended the Lion advantage to 3-0 after crossing home plate on a wild pitch. In the fifth, the Green and Gold rattled off five runs to lead 8-0 as Mass notched an RBI-single up the middle followed by junior Callen Moss blasted a three-run double to right center. Graduate student Luke Houin finished off the five-run inning with an RBI-single up the middle.

The Lions executed a four-run inning in the sixth that was highlighted by senior Mikey Scott driving in a run with a walk while the bases were loaded in addition to the next two runs scoring because of a hit by pitch capped off by freshman Luis Rivero scoring on a wild pitch. In the seventh, Davis scored senior Caleb Adams on a single to right field before Moss doubled to right field to plate Mass, 15-0.

Mass finished the game with a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the dish in addition to scoring four times and batting in a run. Moss posted a season-best six RBI with two hits. Adams recorded two hits and rounded the bases twice while Davis registered a three RBI performance. On the mound, freshman Russell Sandefer started for the Lions and tallied a pair of strikeouts while only surrendering three hits in 6.0 innings to earn the win.
