Men’s Basketball Falls Short Against Palm Beach Atlantic, 66-72

SAINT LEO, Fla - In a hard-fought battle at the Marion Bowman Center, the Saint Leo Lions faced a tough challenge against Palm Beach Atlantic, ultimately falling short with a final score of 66-72. Despite a valiant effort from the Lions, Palm Beach Atlantic's performance was too much to overcome.

The Lions came out strong in the first half, shooting efficiently and staying competitive on both ends of the floor. Led by solid performances from Joseph Locandro, Marshawn Robinson, and Cantia Rahming, Saint Leo kept the game close and displayed resilience in the face of Palm Beach Atlantic's defensive pressure.

However, Palm Beach Atlantic surged ahead in the second half, capitalizing on their opportunities, and maintaining their lead with a balanced offensive attack. Despite a late push from Saint Leo, the Lions were unable to close the gap completely.

Joseph Locandro led the Lions in scoring with an impressive 24 points, showcasing his versatility and determination throughout the game. He also shot an efficient 10-12 from the charity stripe Marshawn Robinson made significant contributions with eight points, five rebounds and two steals, providing crucial support on both ends of the court.

Although the outcome wasn't what the Lions had hoped for, they showed resilience and determination until the final buzzer. They will look to build on the positives from this game and continue striving for success moving forward.

Head Coach Lance Randall after the tough loss: "Our young guys really competed tonight and helped us defend at a better level than we have in recent games".

"Joseph was a load on the block and did a nice job handling their double teams. Once again on timely turnovers and some big offensive rebounds made it difficult for us to get over the hump".

The Lions will be back in action this Saturday February 24th as they will face Florida Tech on senior night at home. They Lions will recognize five seniors and look to get an important home victory. Tipoff is slated to start at 6:00 p.m.
