Men’s Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw Against #1 Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw to #1 Lynn on the road on Monday night in a Sunshine State Conference (SSC) game. With the tie, the Lions move to 3-8-4 overall with a 2-4-3 mark in conference play.

The first half ended in a scoreless tie that featured a pair of stout defenses as the Fighting Knights recorded four shot attempts while the Lions notched two shots.

Sophomore Juan David Hoffman scored his first career goal on a bicycle kick off a pass from junior Anel Rojas in the 55th minute. The Saint Leo defense stood strong by shutting down Lynn's next seven shot attempts. The Fighting Knights laced the equalizer in the 87th minute while both teams combined for one shot in the last three minutes of regulation.

Freshman goalkeeper James Knudson tallied a season-high eight saves in the complete-game effort.

The Fighting Knights out shot the Lions 14-8 while Lynn also held the edge in shots on goal 9-3. Lynn attempted five corner kicks while Saint Leo recorded two.

The Lions return to the pitch on Friday, November 8 as they host Eckerd and celebrate Senior Night in an SSC bout, starting at 7 p.m.
