WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Saint Leo volleyball team lost 3-0 on the road at Rollins on Wednesday night in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) action. With the loss, the Lions fall to 4-7 overall with a 0-3 mark in conference play. Meanwhile, the Tars hold a 10-7 record behind a 1-5 record in SSC matches.
In the opening set, the Tars captured a 10-5 advantage following a service ace to cap off a 6-1 run. Rollins maintained its five-point cushion with a 15-10 lead after an attack error from the Lions before Saint Leo took a timeout. Following the Green and Gold timeout, the Lions tied the game with five consecutive points that was ignited by a block from juniors
Brielle Kallberg and
Paula Perez Rosales. Both teams continued their back-and-forth affair as the score was deadlocked at 21-21 until the Tars rattled off four-straight points to take the first set, 25-21.
Rollins conducted a 6-0 run in the beginning of the second frame to build a 10-3 edge. The Lions clawed back to tie the match at 13 a piece after a block from senior

Madison Moore before a kill from Durka gave Saint Leo a 14-13 lead. The Tars answered by scoring eight of the next 11 points to hold a 21-17, however, the Green and Gold trimmed its deficit to 21-19. Rollins held the Lions at bay for the remainder of the set as it won 25-20.
During the third set, Rollins mounted a 15-5 lead before claiming the set with a score of 25-12.
Durka led the team with eight kills in addition to four digs and a trio of service aces. Moore registered six kills while hitting at a .250 clip and earning three assisted blocks. Rodriguez tallied a pair of kills and three assisted blocks. Junior
Tajma Muharemovic dished out 11 assists and recorded three assists. Perez Rosales led the Lions with seven digs and notched an assist. Senior
Sophia Leon-Tabor earned five digs, six assists, and two service aces.
Saint Leo returns to the court on Friday, October 18 as it travels to Nova Southeastern for a conference bout, starting at 7 p.m.
