West Palm Beach, Fla. - The Saint Leo Lions men's basketball team emerged victorious at Palm Beach Atlantic University on Saturday afternoon. The Lions battled back from down 12 in the first half to complete an 87-85 comeback victory against the Sailfish.
The Lions' shooting percentages were impressive across the board, with a total field goal percentage of 51%, three-point percentage of 52%, and a stellar 85% from the free-throw line. Their efficiency in the second half demonstrated their ability to make critical adjustments and execute under pressure.
Key players for the Saint Leo Lions stepped up when it mattered the most.
Kanon Koster led the scoring charge with an outstanding 25 points, connecting on seven out of 12 field goals, including a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line.
Logan Ryan and
Greyson Pritzl contributed significantly with 16 and 15 points, respectively, showcasing their versatility with both three-pointers and free throws.
Notably, the Lions' exceptional teamwork and ball movement were reflected in their 18 assists for the game.
Cantia Rahming led the team with eight rebounds, anchoring the defense and contributing to Saint Leo's dominance on the boards. Rahming also had a key layup with 49 seconds to seal the victory for the visitors.
The Lions' defensive prowess was evident, recording a total of nine steals and efficiently converting turnovers into 22 points. The team's ability to capitalize on second-chance opportunities also played a big role, earning them eight points in that category.

The Lions look to carry the momentum into Wednesday when they return to the court as they make the trip north to Daytona Beach to take on Embry-Riddle (Jan. 17) for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
