SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Lions were able to seal a 2-1 victory against Johnson University on Wednesday evening at Saint Leo Soccer Field.
The Lions came out the gate with a slower start than usual but quickly increased the offensive pressure.
Sophomore Anel Rojas netted the first goal of the night in the 28th minute with an assist from Junior Edoardo Degl'Innocenti
The Lions stood tall defensively the rest of the first half, going into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
Six minutes into the second half, the Lions were able to strike again. Junior Edoardo Degl'Innocenti notched his first goal of the night assisted by Senior Mauro Diaz.
The Suns were finally able to get on the board in the 66th minute by Pedro Calvo.
The Lions were able to get off 17 shots on the night with nine of them on goal.
The Lions return to action this Saturday, Sep. 30 as Saint Leo travels to battle against SSC Foe, Palm Beach Atlantic at 7 p.m.
