SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University volleyball team was in full force Friday night, as the Lions faced a Sunshine State Conference rival, sweeping the Tars of Rollins College at Marion Bowman Activities Center.

While the Green & Gold earned the sweep over Rollins (6-5, 1-2 SSC), The Lions came out very aggressive in the first set and led the entire way to cruise to a first-set win 25-20. With the contest tied 5-5 in the second set, Saint Leo's attack became lethal, blazing out to an 8-0 run to give the Lions some cushion with a 13-5 lead, as they continued to control the match. The Green and Gold led by as much as 10 points in the match as they maintained the lead 24-14, and later closed out the set in a dominant fashion

Set Three began as another back-and-forth battle between the conference rivals early in the set but Saint Leo ultimately controlled the momentum going on another 8-0 run to stretch the lead early in the set. The Tars continued to try and close the gap, but the Green & Gold finished off its opposition with a 12-2 run to win the third set 25-11 preserving the sweep.
Saint Leo has a quick turnaround as they face the Florida Tech Panthers on Saturday, Sept. 23 for another conference showdown. The first set at the Marion Bowman Activities Center is set for 4 p.m.
