WINTER PARK, Fla.- The Saint Leo Baseball team split their doubleheader against #9 Rollins College, Saturday afternoon. The Lions were able to score five runs in the ninth inning to steal the first game of the doubleheader, 8-5. The Tars secured the series defeating the Lions, 12-4.

The Lions now sit at 27-20 on the season and 15-12 in the SSC.

GAME ONE:
Â
The Lions started off the first game of their Saturday afternoon doubleheader, taking an early lead in the top of the fourth inning.
Bobby Sparling drove in the first run of the game for Saint Leo with a sacrifice fly to deep center.
Mike Wyman would hit a sacrifice fly of his own to give the Lions a two run lead in the top of the fourth.

The Tars would go on to score three runs to take a 3-2 lead throughout the next two innings.

Sparling would even out the game with a one run single through the left side in the top of the sixth.
Â
After the #9 Tars would grab the lead for a second time in the game. The Lions offense wouldn't give in, combining for five runs in the top of the ninth to steal the game 8-5.

Cooper Miles finished the first game 2-for-5 with three RBI's, a double, and a run.
Buck Anderson went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, an RBI and run.
Mikey Scott finished 3-for-5 with two runs and one double.

GAME TWO:

#9 Rollins College's offense sparked up in the series rubber match, taking on 12 runs to steal the series from the Lions.

The Tars opened up the game scoring seven runs through the first two innings of play. The Lions would fight to cut the lead down to one run after posting three runs in the third inning. #9 Rollins would go on to score five answered runs before
Mikey Scott would hit a solo homer in the top of the eighth inning.

The Tars would be able to sneak away with the series, defeating the Lions, 12-4 in the series rubber match.

The Lions will return home to Thomas B. Southard Stadium to close out the regular season against Palm Beach Atlantic. The first game of the series is scheduled for Thursday, May 11
th at 6 P.M.
