SAINT LEO, Fla. – The #20 Saint Leo women's lacrosse team fought hard in the second half to close out the Panthers 15-11.
The Lions now move to 9-4 after strong win versus Florida Tech

In the first quarter, it was
Eliz Fino continuing her terrific run of form by getting the Lion's first goal of the game versus the Panthers.

After being down 2-0, the Lions roared back with three goals in a row including the Fino goal mentioned before but it was
Ashlee Wilsynski who gave the Lions the lead.

The game was 6-5 in Florida Tech's favor heading into the second quarter after a fiery first 15 minutes.

In the second quarter, it was
Sophia Wood who got the scoring started for the Lions with her ninth goal of the season.

The Panthers went into halftime with a 9-6 lead.

It was
Emma Hayhurst's time to shine as she scored the Green & Gold's first goal of the third quarter.

The Lions came fighting back and it was
Gigi Moll's goal that put them back in the lead once again.
Â
The Panthers scored a late third quarter tying goal to make the score 11-11 heading into the fourth quarter.

Fiona McLaughlin scored the first goal of the fourth quarter which kick started a run for the Lions.
Â
The Lions strong fourth quarter lead them to a 15-11 win in the end.

The leading scorer for the Lions was
Fiona McLaughlin with seven goals on the day.

Up next, the Lions come back home to University Turf Stadium as they welcome Florida Southern for a big SSC matchup. The draw is scheduled for 7:00pm on April 12th.
