SAINT LEO, Fla. – The #21 Saint Leo women's lacrosse team started off strong but ultimately fell to #5 Florida Southern 17-10.
The Lions now move to 9-5 after loss to Florida Southern.

In the first quarter, it was
Lia Lamendola who stepped up and gave the Lions the first goal of the game which was followed by a fiery response by the home crowd.

The Mocs did get things going eventually as they took a 5-3 lead into the second quarter.

Eliz Fino was the first to score for the Lions in the second quarter as this was a sign of momentum swinging the other way.

Florida Southern held a 9-6 lead at halftime following another near buzzer-beater goal given up by Saint Leo.

In the third quarter, it was
Sophia Wood who tried to spark another light of hope for the Lions, bringing the game within two goals.

The Mocs were having none of it as they fired on all cylinders and took a six-goal lead into the fourth quarter.

Ashlee Wilsynski got involved in the action once again, finding the back of the net as the Lions tried once more to get back in the swing of momentum.

It was not enough as the Mocs closed the game out on top 17-10.

Up next, the Lions head back on the road to square up against Palm Beach Atlantic on April 15th at 3:00pm.
