MONTGOMERY, AL- The Saint Leo baseball team traveled to Montgomery, Alabama for a three game series against Auburn Montgomery. The Lions defeated the Warhawks in seven innings, 13-2.

With the win the Lions improve to 18-14 on the season and 8-7 in the SSC.

Dariel Fregio got the call to kick off the series on the mound for the Lions. Fregio was shoving on the mound, tossing six innings of work, striking out three batters while allowing only six hits and one run. Fregio earned the win and improved to 6-2 on the year.

Eddie Niemann III had another impressive outing at the dish. Finishing 2-for 3 with an RBI and a run.
Mikey Scott went 1-for-3 with two RBI's, two runs, a double, and a stolen base.
Buck Anderson went 2-for-3 with a run, RBI, and a walk.

The Lions quickly attacked the Warhawks in the first game of the series with an eight run first inning. The Green & Gold's eight-piece first inning marked the highest scored inning for the Lions this season. Saint Leo kept their foot on the gas throughout the first four innings of play totaling 13 runs in four innings.'

The Lions had eight players have a run batted in throughout the game, while recorded 15 hits in 33 plate appearances.

Luke Pappas saw action on the mound for Saint Leo, tossing one inning. Pappas allowed two hits on the five batters he faced.

Due to inclement weather the Lions series against the Warhawks will now be moved to a doubleheader on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 AM (CST)/ 12:00 PM (EST).
