SAINT LEO, Fla. – The #22 Saint Leo women's lacrosse team fought hard until the end before ultimately falling to #8 Rollins 18-12.
The Lions now move to 10-6 after falling to Rollins.
 
In the first quarter, 
Marina Dean was the first to score to put the Lions up early at the start of the game.
 
Rollins fought back right away and took a 5-2 lead into the second quarter.
 
In the second, 
Maria Palomba scored a goal right after winning the opening draw attempt to bring some of the momentum back to the Green & Gold.
 
Going into halftime, it was Rollins who held an 8-5 lead.
 
Fiona McLaughlin came roaring back in the third quarter as she helped the Lions score the first goal in the period.
 
Rollins continued to stay consistent as they brought a 13-8 lead into the fourth.
 
McLaughlin once again scored the first goal of the fourth as the Lions had one last push in them.
 
The momentum was not enough as the Tars finished on top with a final score of 18-12.
 
Up next, the Lions continue at home as they welcome Embry-Riddle to the University Turf Stadium for a Senior Day SSC Matchup. The game is on April 23rd at 12:00pm.
