SAINT LEO, Fla.- The Saint Leo baseball team closed out their conference series against Lynn University, Saturday afternoon. The Lions fell to the Knights in the second game 11-4. Saint Leo would come back to take the series defeating Lynn, 7-5 in the second game of the doubleheader.

After the split the Lions sit at 22-15 on the season and 10-8 in the SSC.

GAME ONE:
Â
Jestin Jones got the start on the mound in the first game of the doubleheader. Jones tossed three innings of work during his appearance.
Â
Zach Benson continued his hot bat this series going 2-for-4.
Mikey Scott also had a 2-for-4 day at the dish for Saint Leo.
Â
Lynn quickly got things started early scoring one run on a sacrifice fly to kick things off in the first inning. The Knights extended their lead to 8-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth.

Luke Houin would get the Lions on the board in the bottom of the fourth with a one run single to left field, scoring Sparling.
Â
Giuseppe Arcuri would chip away at the Lynn lead in the sixth inning with a three-run homer to left field to make it, 11-4.

The Knights were able to steal game the second game of the conference series, 11-4.

GAME TWO:
Â
The Saint Leo bats got to work early in the second game, jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the first. Adrian Roa drove in the first run of the game with a deep fly ball to right field to score Benson.

Lynn answered back with three home runs in the third to grab the lead from the Lions, 5-1.
Â
After a lightning delay would push the game to 6:30 P.M. The Lions responded with a three piece in the bottom of the third inning.
Mikey Scott would drive in the first run of the inning with a sacrifice fly. Roa would pull a deep shot to right field belting a two-run homer, cutting the Knights lead to one run.

Mike Wyman would bring in the tying run for the Lions in the bottom half of the seventh with a one run double to left center.
Â
The Lions would steal the lead in the bottom of the eighth. Arcuri got the inning started with a leadoff single. Benson would hit a double down the left field line to advance Arcuri to third.
Mikey Scott would give Saint Leo the lead with a two-run single down the middle.

Pat Gallagher picked up his first win of the season. Gallagher struck out three batters through two innings.
Â
Nick Jennings would come in to close out the final game of the series between the two Sunshine State Conference teams. Jennings earned his third save of the season.

The Lions will hit the road to face Valdosta State, Tuesday April 18
th. First pitch is scheduled for 6 P.M.
