SAINT LEO, Fla- The Saint Leo baseball team welcomed Sunshine State Conference opponent Eckerd College for a midweek under the lights battle. The game featured 32 hits and 22 runs between the two Sunshine State Conference teams. Eckerd held off Saint Leo, 12-10.

With the loss the Lions fall to 15-13 on the season and 6-7 in the SSC.

The Lions would strike first loading the bases from walks in the bottom of the second inning.
Mike Wyman would drive in the first run of the game with a sacrifice fly to right center.

Adrian Roa would extend the lead in the third inning hitting a long infield single through the right side to score
Dylan Mass.
Â
Eckerd would tie it up in the top of the fourth inning ending Racculia's night.
Andy Booth would come in and escape the bases loaded jam with three fly outs to right field.

Cam Collier would give the Tritons the lead after belting a go-ahead three run homer to left field.
Â
Saint Leo would rally in the top of the sixth putting the visiting Tritons on their heels.
Zach Benson led off the inning with a double into the left field gap.
Giuseppe Arcuri would move Benson to third with a single down the left field line. Wyman would once again bring in a Saint Leo run, hitting into a fielders choice to the shortstop.

The Tritons would add four runs in the top of the seventh to lead the Lions, 9-3.

Benson would continue an impressive season at the plate, hitting a two-run triple down the right field line. Wyman would continue to have himself a night at the dish and drive a two run single up the middle to cut the Tritons lead down to two runs.
Eddie Niemann III would keep the rally alive for the Lions with a two-out single up the middle to give Saint Leo runners at the corners. A Balk would turn this ballgame into a one run game heading into the eighth.

Eckerd would add three to jump out to a 12-8 lead over the Lions heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Niemann III would get the Lions on the board in the bottom of the ninth with a one run single to right center.
Yazael Nunez would keep the rally alive for the Lions driving in another run for the Lions with a deep infield single to short.

Gil Colon would come in and earnt the save to give Eckerd the win, 12-10.

The Lions will return to action when they hit the road to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to face conference opponent Nova Southeastern University on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 6 P.M.
