SAINT LEO, Fla- The Saint Leo baseball team fell short to Florida Southern in the second game of their conference series, Saturday afternoon. The Lions will look to rebound in the series finale tomorrow. Florida Southern defeated Saint Leo, 5-3.

With the loss the Lions fall to 14-12 on the season and 5-6 in the SSC.

Jestin Jones got the ball to start the second game for the Lions. Jones tossed six frames, striking out six of 23 batters faced.

Adrian Roa got the Lions off to a great start in the bottom of the first inning with a solo shot to right field. The Lions added to their lead in the bottom of the third inning when
Buck Anderson would hit a one run double to left. Roa would add another RBI to his stat line after driving in Anderson with a one run single to right center.

After struggling in the first half of the game, the Mocs started chipping away at the Lions lead starting in the fifth inning. Florida southern would steal the lead from Saint Leo in the top of the eighth inning when Safferwic would hit a go-ahead homer to left center.

Nick Jennings suffered the loss on the mound for the Lions, falling to 2-1 on the year.

The Lions will close out their series against Florida Southern on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 P.M.
