SAINT LEO, Fla. – The #20 Saint Leo women's lacrosse team fell to #21 Bentley University in an overtime showdown 13-12.
The Lions now move to 6-1 after a hard defeat at the hands of the Falcons.
In the first quarter, the Lions went down 3-0 early and faced some early struggles.

Junior
Fiona McLaughlin was the Lions that stopped the scoring drought with a goal from a free position attempt.

The score was tied 3-3 after the Lions put up three goals unanswered of their own heading into the second quarter.

Senior
Lia Lamendola was the first to strike between both teams in the second as the Lions had taken their first lead of the game.

However the Falcons were quick to answer offensively and went into halftime with an 8-6 lead and most of the momentum.

The third quarter was yet another defensive showdown where the Lions came out on top and headed into the fourth with a one goal 10-9 advantage.

With one minute left in the fourth quarter,
Ashlee Wilsynski scored the game tying goal with about a minute left which sent the game into overtime.

Unfortunately for the Green & Gold, the Falcons proved to be to strong by winning the draw and turning the possession into a goal that ended the game.

The Falcons finished on top 13-12.

The Lions leading scorer was
Ashlee Wilsynski with five goals while also tallying an assist.
