SAINT LEO, Fla- The Saint Leo baseball team closed out their four-game series against Kentucky Wesleyan, Saturday afternoon. The Panthers defeated the Lions, 3-2. The Green & Gold took the four-game series 3-1 over Kentucky Wesleyan.

With the loss the Lions fall to 10-10 on the season.

Kaelan Racculia got the start on the mound for the Lions. Racculia threw seven and two thirds' frames, striking out five of 32 batters faced. Racculia fell to 1-2 on the year.

The Panthers got on the board after mustering a couple of singles in the top of the second. They were able to score two runs against Racculia.

Mike Wyman would kick off the Lions rally in the bottom of the second inning with a lead off single to left field.
Zach Benson would stay hot during the four game series and collect another base hit.
Yazael Nunez followed suit driving in the first run of the game with a one run single through the left side.

Ryan Jackson would lead of the bottom of the seventh with a double down the left field line.
Brennan Reback would pinch run for Jackson to add speed on the base path for the Lions. However, Josh Tucker would answer back to get out of the jam.

Saint Leo would put pressure on Kentucky Wesleyan in the bottom of the eight inning.
Buck Anderson would wear a pitch inside to lead off the inning for the Green & Gold.
Dylan Mass would give the Lions runners on first and second after reaching on an infield single. A double steal would give Saint Leo runners at second and third.
Luke Houin would pinch hit for
Bobby Sparling and hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the first run of the inning for the Lions to cut the Panther lead to, 3-2.

The Lions will return to Thomas B. Southard for a Monday evening showdown against Purdue Northwest University, March 13th. First pitch is scheduled for 6 P.M.
