SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's lacrosse team achieves first win of the season versus SSC opponent Palm Beach Atlantic in dominant fashion 23-8.
 
The Lions now move to 1-3 after win. Despite playing Palm Beach Atlantic, this was not an SSC matchup.
 
In the first quarter, Greg Palmer was first to strike for the Lions within 3 minutes of the start of the game.
 
The rest of the quarter saw Saint Leo dominate on offense taking a 9-2 lead and set up the momentum for the rest of the game.
 
In the second quarter, John Raucci kick starting yet another quarter of scoring for the Lions as they took a 13-4 lead into halftime.
 
Coming out of halftime, the Lions' Adem Tekman scored the 14th Saint Leo goal and the first of the second half.
 
The Lions went on to take an 18-7 lead into the fourth quarter.
 
The Lions took care of business in the fourth with Palmer once again showing up and kicking action off for the Lions with their first of five goals in the fourth.
 
The final score sees the Lions win 23-8.
 
Greg Palmer led the scoring for the Green & Gold with six goals while also tacking on four assists as well. Palmer's performance puts him in strong contention for a SSC weekly award slot.
 
Michael Flores dominated winning 15 of 19 face offs throughout the game with 10 ground balls.
 
The Lions win is also given to Chase Strait for his first of the season. Strait finished the game with nine saves.

Up next, the Lions will be back at home at the University Turf Stadium to face off against Davis & Elkins on March 5th. Face-off is scheduled for 7pm.
