SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team welcomed Valdosta State University for a non-conference midweek matchup Tuesday evening. The Lions fell to the Blazers, 7-2.
With the loss the Lions fall to 4-5 on the season.
Zach Benson would score the first run of the game for the Green and Gold after finding himself in scoring position with a one out double down the left field line. Benson would advance to third on a wild pitch.
Mike Wyman would bring Benson home with an RBI double down the left field line.
Yazael Nunez would drive in another run for the Lions in the bottom of the eighth inning after
Bobby Sparling would find himself on second thanks to a fielding error in the outfield.
Kaelan Racculia dropped to 0-1 on the season after tossing 2.2 innings against the Blazers.
The Lions will hit the road for the first time this season opening up conference play at Florida Tech. First pitch is scheduled for 6 P.M. on Friday.
