WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Saint Leo University softball team began Sunshine State Conference play with hot-hitting, shutting out Palm Beach Atlantic 8-0 Friday night at Simpson Field.
The Lions (8-1, 1-0 SSC) recorded 17 hits on the night, as Junior infielders
Alexandra Hare and
Alyssa Perez respectively went 4-for-4 and 3-for-4, with Hare driving in four RBIs. Perez finished the game with two RBIs. Fifth-year outfielder
Bayley Williams was also perfect, hitting 2-for-2 while picking up a RBI.
Junior Pitcher
Kayla Betts (4-0) went a full seven innings and gave up one hit with no runs and 15 strikeouts.
Saint Leo wraps up its series with the Sailfish Saturday in doubleheader fashion; first pitch is set for noon.
