Lions Take Care of Business Versus Rollins 83-65 as Amanda Ulrich Breaks Record

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team complete revenge game versus Rollins with a win of 83-65.
 
After the victory, the Lions are now 13-12 overall and 6-12 in Sunshine State Conference play.
 
The Lions started things off very well as they went into the 2nd quarter with the lead 21-15 with a lot of momentum.

"We shot the ball well and rotated on defense," said Head Coach Anthony Crocitto. "The ladies followed the scout and trusted the process. I'm so proud of this group."
 
The biggest moment in the first quarter and the game came as a jump shot from Senior Amanda Ulrich helped push her as the All-Time Leading scorer in Saint Leo Women's Basketball history.

"Just a tremendous basketball player," said Crocitto. "That's Amanda Ulrich. What she has done for Saint Leo is now etched in the record books and is part of her amazing legacy."
 
After that moment, the Lions never turned back as they headed into the 2nd quarter,
 
Saint Leo continued their dominance with 24 points in the 2nd quarter which brought them into halftime with a 45-27 lead.
 
At the halfway point, Ulrich contributed as the leading scorer for the team.
 
The Lions came out of halftime and continued their offense outpour with 21 points in the 3rd quarter to take Rollins to the 4th quarter with a 66-46 lead.
 
The Green & Gold closed the game out on top to win with the final score being 83-65.
 
Ulrich led the team in scoring with a final tally of 22 points while shooting 8-12 from the field along with four shots from behind the arc.
 
Fifth Year Alex Button also had a great game with 18 points and going a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line

"Alex Button. Smooth, just smooth," said Crocitto. "She took control at times and is super unselfish across the board."

Saint Leo played a great all-around game that got the entire team involved.

"Taydra and Chynna, wow," said Crocitto. "They are a dynamic duo with 22 points combined. Scoring on all levels today and defending at a high level."
 
The Lions will next be in action as they travel to Boca Raton, FL to take on Lynn University in a pivotal SSC matchup. The game is on February 18th with the tip-off scheduled for 2:00pm.
