SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team welcomed #20 Quincy University to Thomas B. Southard Stadium Tuesday Evening. The Lions fell to the Hawks, 10-2.
With the loss the Lions now sit at 4-4 on the season.
After a couple of scoreless innings to start the midweek battle. The Hawks were able to get on the board first, scoring five runs in the top of the third inning.
Mikey Scott would score the first run for the Lions off a
Yazael Nunez sacrifice fly after advancing into scoring position on a wild pitch that would lead to a throwing error from Luke Napleton.
Dylan Mass would come in to pinch hit for Eddie Niemann III in the bottom of the ninth and blasted his first homer of his collegiate career.
Andrew Hazell would get the loss on the mound this evening. Falling to 0-2 on the season.
The Lions will be back in action at Thomas B. Southard to welcome Valdosta State University, Tuesday February 21
st. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
