SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team kicked off their series against Flagler College Friday evening. A ninth inning rally would ignite a Lions come from behind victory for the Green and Golds first walk off of the season.
Buck Anderson was the hero of the night for the Lions going 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs, and a run. Anderson came in clutch for the Lions, delivering a two run walkoff single to give the Lions their second win of the season.
Anderson would score the first run of the game on a wild pitch.
Flagler led 5-1 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning.
Bobby Sparling would ignite the ninth inning rally with a double down the left field line.
Adrien Roa would keep the rally alive with a single to center to move Sparling into scoring position.
Giuseppe Arcuri would pinch hit for
Mike Wyman and hit a deep infield single, Sparling would find his was home due to a throwing error which would give the Lions runners at third and second.
Brennan Reback kept the late game heroics alive with a two run double down the left field line to score Arcuri and
Caleb Adams. Anderson would hit a walk of two run single with the bases loaded to give the Lions the 6-5 come from behind victory.
Dariel Fregio got the start on the mound for the Lions in the first game of the series against the Saints. Fregio went seven frames, striking out three batters and allowed two runs.
