Saint Leo, Fla — The Saint Leo Volleyball team celebrated senior night as they honored three players
Jeanette Henderson,
Margaret Schrim and
Marysa Connors. The Lions took on the Eagles at home. The Lions battled hard in a completive conference matchup but ultimately fell to the Eagles 1-3.
The first set was back and forth but the Lions came up short falling 18-25. Heading into the second set the Lions picked up the intensity led by the trio of
Reagan Hopp,
Oliwia Durka and
Emma Laade taking the set 25-21.
The Lions registered 52 kills in this matchup against the Eagles.
Kennedy DeLuca was a force defensively with five blocks for The Green and Gold.
Tajma Muharemovic and
Sophia Leon-Tabor led the assist column for the Lions recording 22 and 17 respectively.
Jeanette Henderson recorded 25 digs this afternoon followed by the duo of
Sophia Leon Tabor (13) and
Reagan Hopp (12).
The Lions did all the could but ultimately fell in the last two sets 23-25 and 23-25 to the Eagles. The Lions battled hard on Senior Night and look to bounce back in their next matchup.
The Lions jump on the road next as they head to Fort Lauderdale, FL to take on the Sharks of Nova Southeastern Friday Nov 10th. The matchup is slated to start at 7:00 p.m. as the Lions look to get a big conference win on the road.
